Dr. Barbara Graham and Jon Stabler at GolfPsych gave me a new dimension on
my pre-shot routine that’s working well for me.
I used to hit balls at the range to “groove my swing” and then try to take this swing to the 1st tee, go through
a pre-shot routine and chase my demons around the golf course.
Stabler and Graham introduced me to a new way to “groove my-self rather than my swing” and take my-self rather than my swing
to the 1st tee. They taught me their description of the Full Mental Pre-Shot Routine and it has given me a new dimension for how
I set-up to my shots.
I still look at my target, select my club, think about my swing mechanics and then I stop. I never used to stop,
I used to just hit the shot with my mind full of swing mechanics and the results were often not too good.
Now I stop and after I stop, I commit. Stop and Commit are the new big steps for my Full Mental Pre-Shot Routine When I stop and fully commit,
all thoughts about mechanics dissolve and I vision only the target and feel the swing’s rhythm in my hands and feet
as I hit the ball.
I’m playing better, enjoying my game more and looking forward to a summer of competing in SWSPGA and Pepsi Tour events.
Let me know about your experiences with the “mental game” in general and
GolfPsych in particular.

Thumbs up for Fran Harper.
I really lucked out finding Fran Harper to instruct me for three lessons during a short stint
to Arizona. Fran not only has a passion for golf he has a passion for teaching. He is able to communicate what
he wants to get across and always has informative antidotes to help you understand in multiple ways.
When we played a scramble on the course, Fran missed a 10-foot putt for par. Wow I thought! I get to putt
for our par. So for Fran and myself I hit it dead on and in it went! I think Fran was a little surprised
but he should not have been because he taught me well.
Thank you Fran.

Your fans will take your mind off that hazard.
Imagine that you are addressing your ball, waggling your club and you see a hazard. Look around
and you will also see your fans. Smile at them and take energy from the exchange.
Transfer the energy to your game, smile and make the shot, which is now a no-brainer.
Gather up your fans and move on.
It takes an imagination to play this game!
